Divorce Fast

The law on "fast" dissolution of marriage, which caused a lot of discussion in the Italian government, however, supported by a majority of Italian voters, entered into force on 26 May 2015.
In short, "Quick" divorce allows spouses who decide to divorce to reduce the waiting time for legal divorce status to 6-12 months. Previously, spouses were given 3 years "for reflection" (three-year waiting period for divorce; periodo separazione).
