RAF, Kenya Airforce, Singapore Airforce, Singapore Electronics then returned to UK in 1979 joining Ferranti In Edinburgh. Kenya Airforce was just starting and I was seconded from the RAF to help with training the new recruits. Singapore Airforce was a civilian post with the initial job to re-build the Instrument Section which was empty after the RAF had left. After a couple of contract renewals my main work was to build up Tech Headquarters. From an initial expat number of around 20 (Brits/Aussies) it ended up with only two of us to finalise everything before it was running alone by Singapore Staff. Singapore Electronics was a company that included an aviation clean room for repair and overhaul of both civilian and military equipment. Once again after all the expats (Aussies) left I was on my own running the repair station. Further info can be found at https://granddadgregory.smugmug.com. On joining Ferranti as a development engineer working Electro-Optics department.
